Resolution Options
Establishing a "Sustainable Community" is performed by your jurisdiction. The
Secretary of the Department of Housing and Community Development must then concur
with the designation if projects are to be eligible for state targeted resources.
Given this sequence, the wording of the resolution is extremely important. Although
you had been provided a sample resolution with general language (see below for applications
and forms), the following represents additional guidance in preparing the resolution
that will meet the requirements of the Office of the Attorney General.
- The final statement of the resolution is extremely important. It must begin in the
following manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we hereby designate:
- The following options may be used to describe the neighborhood to be designated
following the colon above:
- That portion of the Town/City/County of Utopia shown and designated on the map attached
hereto as Exhibit "A",
- That portion of the Town/City/County of Utopia shown and designated on the map attached
hereto as Exhibit "A" and footnotes to the map attached hereto as Exhibit "B",
- The area bounded on the north by Route 2000, on the east by Route 2001, on the south
by Route 2002 and on the west by Route 2003, to include the boundary roadways as
designated on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A",
- That portion of Lovely Road and all propertied adjacent to it beginning at 2002
Lovely Road and ending at 3002 Lovely Road as designated on the map attached hereto
as Exhibit "A",
- The entire Town/City of Utopia
